Matrix Home Care names Susie Mantilla-Lage, RN-BSN, director of nursing for Palm Beach, Treasure Coast
WEST PALM BEACH (March 22, 2010) - Matrix Home Care today announced the appointment of Susie Mantilla-Lage, RN-BSN, as director of nursing for Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast region. She will oversee all clinical aspects of Matrix' services, including an expansion of the home care company's pediatric services. "Susie Mantilla-Lage is an experienced clinical leader with the ability to build rapport with patients, family, staff and physicians," said Pernille Ostberg, MBA, RPh, Matrix president and CEO. "As a bilingual healthcare professional, she relates well to people from a variety of cultures."
Based in the company's Boca Raton office, Mantilla-Lage will guide Matrix' nursing operations in Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie and Indian River counties. Prior to joining Matrix, Mantilla-Lage was staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, where she provided a broad range of nursing care, coordinated patient needs and provided family-centered, direct nursing care to pediatric patients. "At Matrix, one of my goals is to recruit experienced nurses who share our company's philosophy of service," Mantilla-Lage said. "We are looking to expand our services in intravenous (IV) infusion and critical care cases, as well as pediatric home care."
Mantilla-Lage was also a school nurse for Palm Beach County Healthcare District in West Palm Beach, and a critical care staff nurse at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach and Miami Children's Hospital in Miami. She was a home care nurse for a Boynton Beach healthcare firm, where she developed patient care plans in consultation with other healthcare providers. She earned her RN-BSN degree from the University of Miami in 2004, where she was earned membership in the Sigma Theta Tau honorary. She also holds several advanced life-saving certifications.
